A：For e-paper itself, it is just black and white color. To display the colorful effect, we will make a colorful overlay on the very first surface on top of e-paper, then both the colorful overlay and e-paper will be attached to the driver which will control the sequence of display processes.

A：There are five parts for the e-paper display:

Q：What is the technology of E-PAPER DISPLAY(EPD)?
A：The principal components of electronic ink paper are millions of tiny microcapsules, about the diameter of a human hair. In one incarnation, each microcapsule contains positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles suspended in a clear fluid. When a negative electric field is applied, the white particles move to the top of the microcapsule where they become visible to the user. This makes the surface appear white at that spot. At the same time, an opposite electric field pulls the black particles to the bottom of the microcapsules where they are hidden. By reversing this process, the black particles appear at the top of the capsule, which now makes the surface appear dark at that spot.
To form E-PAPER DISPLAY, the ink is printed onto a sheet of plastic film that is laminated to a layer of circuitry. The circuitry forms a pattern of pixels that can then be controlled by a display driver. These microcapsules are suspended in a liquid "carrier medium" allowing them to be printed using existing screen printing processes onto virtually any surface, including glass, plastic, fabric and even paper. Ultimately electronic ink will permit most any surface to become a display, bringing information out of the confines of traditional devices and into the world around us.

Q：How about the format of EPD overlay artwork?
A：It is would be best if client send us the original format design with AI, CDR or PSD format, then we can make the animated effect picture for your reference accordingly. If no artwork available, we can provide you with some reference design to help you work out the artwork.
Q：What would be provided to get a detailed quotation?
A：It would be great helpful for PERTIE to quote the price with following details:

Q：How about the border size leave to activate the Epaper Display
A：To activate the epaper display, each border should leave 6mm to activate the epaper display part.
For example, if the whole size of your epaper display is 100*100mm, the active part size is 88*88mm.
Q：How about the thickness of EPD backplane?
A：The back panel depends on your project requirement. Generally speaking, there are 1mm and 3mm thickness back panel available in PERTIE.
Q：Can EPD be bentable?
A：EPD is flexible and can be bent, but its bent angle can’t be too big as 90°, and it is better to be bent carefully or with a fixed angle.
Q：How about Epaper Display setting fees?
A：Setting fees will be charged before making sample. It will not be charged again when you place the mass production order with no revision for the sample we made. Revision for the display sequence is ok for us, but the artwork can’t be revised. If artwork revision required, new setting fees will be charged accordingly.
Q：Does the quotation of Epaper Display include cost of battery?
A：It depends.
If it is with coin battery, the quotation include the cost of coin batteries.
If it is with AA battery, the quotation is without the cost for AA battery, the buyer need to prepare by themselves.
Q：What is replaceable Epaper Display
A：Replaceable e-paper display is also called reusable e-paper display.
It is with fixed electronic display sheets settings, and can change the overlay from one to another to display different images you want.
The overlay is very easy to be replaced that just one of your employees can operate it without any problem.
Q：Can client print the replaceable project overlay by themselves?
A：It is better for us to make the replaceable overlay for your use. Because we are more familiar with the technician of EPD and know which overlay can make best display effect to fit to the replaceable EPD.
The delivery time for overlay depends on different quantity, take 1000pcs for example, it needs about 1 week.
Q：How about the cost of Epaper Display sample making?
A：To make the sample, the parts of charges are as follow:
1) Sample fees itself: depends on different projects, different size, we will reverse to you when you place mass production order no less than MOQ 250 pcs (samples 1-2pcs)
2) Setting fees: USD 670.00 for every new project. Setting fees will not be reversed, but it will not be charged again when place the mass production order without revision to the approved sample.
Q：How about the packing process of Epaper Display?
A：Generally speaking, it will be packed by the following steps:
1) One piece of EPD packed in a bubble bag
2) Some pieces of bag in one small box
3) Some small boxes into a inner carton
4) Some inner carton into a master carton

A：contrast for electronic paper is 700:1.
If adding overlay on the surfact, its constrast is about 500:1.
Q：How about the shelf life of Epaper Display?
A：Generally speaking, the Epaper Display ads can be kept on shelf for 2-3 years.
If the moisture condition is around 40-60%, Epaper Display can be kept using for 40000-50000hours (4-6years).
If the moistrue condition is kept for 50%, Epaper Display can be kept using without limit, because the electronic paper can be kept workable without life limitation under 50% moisture condition.
